Our Mission

Our mission is to transform plastic waste into functional, beautiful furniture that’s built to last.

We believe materials matter, and not just where they come from, but where they’re going. By using recovered ocean plastics, industrial waste and locally sourced wood, we create clean and well made pieces that help reduce landfill and offer a better alternative to mass produced goods.

Our work is about more than furniture. It’s about showing that waste can be reshaped into something people are proud to use, keep, and pass on.

How It's Made

In our Victoria, BC workshop, we compression mold plastic into solid sheets and shaped forms using heat and pressure. This process creates strong, durable surfaces without the need for dyes, glues, or fillers. The colors and patterns in each piece come directly from the source material, which means no two are exactly alike.

Once molded, each panel is carefully finished by hand. We then pair the plastic tops with solid wood legs, which are also handmade in house. These legs are designed with smart joinery that allows for flat pack shipping and easy assembly.

Every stage (from design and prototyping to molding, woodworking, and packaging) takes place in our Victoria, BC micro factory. Keeping everything under one roof lets us stay hands on, reduces waste, and ensure that every product we ship reflects the care that went into it.

Materials

We work with a focused palette of reclaimed and regional materials chosen for their durability, recyclability, and character.

Our plastics (mainly HDPE, LDPE, and PP) come to us in pellet form, and are sourced from post consumer and post industrial waste. These materials are tough, easy to work with, and easily recyclable.

For wooden components, we use locally sourced red alder and western (bigleaf) maple. Both are renewable hardwoods that finish beautifully and hold up over time.

We also use metal for structural elements like fasteners, plates, and support brackets. These are sourced locally and chosen for strength and long term reliability, especially in our flat pack joinery systems.

Everything we use is selected with the goal of creating pieces that are long lasting, repairable, and made with as little waste as possible.

Design

Our design approach is simple. We create functional, long-lasting furniture. Every piece is stripped back to the essentials by using clean forms, smart joinery, and materials that speak for themselves.

We design for repairability, not disposability. That means no complicated assembly and no unnecessary hardware. Most of our pieces ship flat and connect together using built in features or simple fasteners, making them easy to set up, take apart, and move.

Each product is developed in house through hands on prototyping. We test, tweak, and adjust until it feels right. Good design doesn’t have to shout. It just has to work well, feel good in your space, and hold up over time. That’s what we’re aiming for.

Finish

We finish all our wooden parts with a handmade blend of pure tung oil and local Victoria beeswax. It’s completely natural. No solvents, synthetics, or harsh chemicals.

This finish penetrates the wood, bringing out its natural tone and grain while adding a soft, matte feel. It also offers water resistance and helps the wood age gracefully over time.

Each wooden component is hand finished in our workshop, one at a time. It’s a slow process, but it gives every piece a warmth and depth that feels as good as it looks.

The finish can be reapplied at home, helping your furniture stay beautiful and protected for the long haul.

Impact

Every product we make helps keep plastic out of landfills, waterways, and wild places. We work with plastic materials that would otherwise take hundreds of years to break down.

We track the amount of plastic used in every piece, and we can share that information. We want our customers to see their impact clearly in real, measurable terms.

Our manufacturing happens entirely in Victoria, BC, using local materials and minimal transport. That means a lower footprint, tighter quality control, and more accountability at every step.

This is a small scale, hands on effort to show what’s possible when waste becomes a resource and not a burden.
